Wool Pots – the natural alternative to plastic – Packet of 10

We’re always on the look out for alternatives to plastic in our gardening lives, and were excited by the arrival of Wool Pots on the horticultural scene earlier this year, when they won ‘Product of the Year’ at the Garden Press Event 2023.

Having trialled them successfully at home (watch our video at the end!) we are now delighted to be able to offer them to you through our shop.

Wool Pots are made entirely from sheep’s wool, sadly relegated to an unwanted by-product for farmers in recent years.

The woven wool provides an ideal environment for root growth allowing air to circulate all around the growing medium.

Once the plant’s roots reach the outer edge of the pot, the whole pot can be dropped into the planting hole, avoiding root disturbance. In the damp soil the wool disintegrates organically to provide the roots with extra organic matter.

An added bonus is that the collar of the Wool Pot acts as a natural slug deterrent during those critical early days of soft young growth.

Much easier to store than plastic pots as they simply lie flat until you fill them with compost.

Honestly its a win -win-win!
