Thank you for your quiz. This is the first year I have properly sat down to attempt it, with a glass of champagne by the log fire. I have lost my voice after singing ‘Messiah’ with my choir last night so this is my attempt at recuperation! Am pleased to report middling to good success with the quiz but no change with the voice; driving my family mad with what they call my ‘attention-seeking whispering’. My husband did laugh at the first whispered joke though! Thank you for great gardening articles, advice and inspiration. Enjoy very Happy Christmases with your respective families or maybe all together?!
Lucy, loved everything about your comments – champagne, log fire and ‘Messiah’ – that’s Christmas right there, and should be for everyone. Im glad you liked the ‘self-raising’ joke. It reminds me of the one about the husband who had to cook a meal for the children for the first time, and who texted his wife: ‘It says ‘place in a pre-heated oven’ Is our oven a pre-heated one?’ Apologies to all our male readers – it’s just banter!
